Studio Sprout offers art classes for kids 18M to 9Y.

At Studio Sprout we believe in play-based learning — experimentation is encouraged and making a mess is okay! The studio and garden offer a welcoming and fun environment equipped with all sorts of innovative art and garden activities for toddlers and young children. Our ultimate goal is to provide art projects and activities that are fun for kids.

Living artfully and being good stewards for the planet go hand-in-hand. At Studio Sprout we make a point to reuse, reduce, and recycle. All materials are non-toxic and projects will often incorporate recycled materials. When the weather permits we go outside to create art and make clean-up at the water table a playful learning experience. Spring through Fall will offer planting, tending and harvesting in our raised veggie beds, treasure hunting for art materials in the garden, and visiting with our chickens.

We have small class sizes so children can strengthen their social skills in a comfortable and nurturing space. The studio is vibrant, colorful and cozy. Children move freely about, creating art at their own pace. Each child is encouraged to make their own decisions about how they will formulate and execute their art. This gives our young artists opportunities to problem-solve and use their creative potential. With minimal instruction and lots of freedom the art of every child comes out beautifully every time!

The Five Senses: Sight

To celebrate our sense of sight and the fact we can see an amazingly rich and diverse color spectrum I planned a day devoted to the rainbow. Humans are gifted with the ability to see a wide spectrum of color unlike other animals, for example dogs, whmore >

The Five Senses: Smell

Students are LOVING The Five Senses theme! Our third week’s focus was “smell” and we kicked off the class with lavender scented purple sparkle playdough. MaryAnn Kohl’s Play Clay recipe is hands down my favorite homemade playdmore >
